Dr Viswanathan Kavathur

Dr Viswanathan Kavathur is a highly respected Senior Consultant in ENT Surgery with over 37 years of clinical and academic experience. He specialises in the medical and surgical management of common and complex ENT disorders, with particular expertise in endoscopic sinus surgery, microscopic ear surgery, and voice and airway procedures.

A graduate and postgraduate of Calicut Medical College, Dr Viswanathan began his career in the Kerala Health Services and later contributed significantly as a faculty member in the state’s Medical Education Services. He served in government institutions including Calicut and Alappuzha Medical Colleges, followed by an international tenure in Dubai. After retiring from Government service, he established and led the ENT department at DM WIMS Medical College, Wayanad, where he mentored undergraduate students and laid the groundwork for postgraduate ENT training.

Renowned for his methodical approach and surgical precision, Dr Viswanathan has trained generations of ENT surgeons and remains actively engaged in continuing medical education. His long-standing dedication to patient care and medical teaching has made him a respected name in otorhinolaryngology in Kerala.
