Dr Krishna Kumar K S

Dr. Krishna Kumar K S is an internationally recognised Senior Consultant and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Baby Memorial Hospitals with over three decades of unparalleled clinical leadership in plastic, reconstructive, and microsurgery. A pioneer in the field, he was the architect of Malabar’s first modern plastic surgery unit and played a transformative role in establishing advanced reconstructive and aesthetic surgical services across North Kerala.

Dr. Krishna Kumar’s exceptional global training includes dual FRCS qualifications from Edinburgh and Glasgow in General Surgery, FRCS in Plastic Surgery (UK), and a distinguished Microsurgery & Hand Surgery Fellowship from the Christine M. Kleinert Institute, USA. He also holds a Diploma in Plastic Surgery from the British Association of Plastic Surgeons, UK.

His clinical expertise spans reconstructive microsurgery, cleft lip and palate surgery, burn care, aesthetic procedures, sarcoma reconstruction, and major trauma management. He has spearheaded numerous surgical advancements in India and abroad, notably introducing health tourism services in North Kerala and establishing modern burn care protocols for the region.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Krishna Kumar actively contributes to academic excellence as an examiner for MRCS (Royal Colleges of Edinburgh and Glasgow), Associate Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers (RCSEd), and editorial board member of reputed journals. He has delivered invited lectures and surgical training workshops across the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.
